Over 40 years of experience preparing University thin sections of all rock types, fossil and dinosaur bones and meteorites. All thin sections are individually hand-made from an extensive and growing list of UK-derived rock samples, covering most igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rock types, covering the OCR and WJEC A-Geology speciation. No minimum order, single sections to full teaching sets cratered for. Personalised bespoken orders can be created from the list of rock samples. Thin section of Karlsbad Sprudelstein a rare sedimentary rock composed of usually large "ooids" (coated grains) of the carbonate aragonite. In thin section, the numerous thin aragonite layers within the ooids are revealed and the surrounding needles of aragonite cement keep the ooids together. The sample is unique, from the Karlovy Vary District, Czech Republic. Field of View 4mm (XP).
